Project Overview: Turnkey Refrigeration Install
Ace Hotel needed a complete cold storage solution to support their kitchen and food service operations. Our scope of work included:

♦ Installing interior evaporator units for both the cooler and freezer
♦ Running refrigerant lines and electrical wiring

To begin, we carefully craned the equipment to the roof—as shown in our video footage, documenting the precise lift and placement of the new condensers.
Step 1: Rooftop Condenser Installation
After the units were safely delivered to the rooftop using a crane, our technicians secured and leveled each condensing unit, ensuring proper placement and airflow clearance. Each condenser was then connected to its designated evaporator via insulated copper refrigerant lines.
We routed the lines cleanly and efficiently to minimize bends and pressure drops, while also protecting them from sun and heat exposure.
Step 2: Interior Evaporator Installation
Inside the walk-in cooler and freezer, we mounted Trenton ESP+ evaporator units, chosen for their durability, energy efficiency, and electronic control capabilities. These units are designed to provide:

♦ Quiet operation
♦ Reliable defrost cycles
We drilled access points and carefully ran the suction and liquid lines into the rooms, ensuring that each line was insulated, routed cleanly, and sealed to prevent air infiltration.
Step 3: Electrical & Control Wiring
Next, we connected power and control wiring to each component. This included:
♦ Running thermostat and sensor wires to the ESP+ control panel
♦ Connecting evaporator fans and defrost heaters
♦ Powering up the rooftop units
♦ Securing all conduit and wiring per code
We also installed drain lines and heating tape where necessary to prevent ice buildup and ensure proper condensation drainage
Step 4: Final Testing and Commissioning
Once mechanical and electrical work was completed, our team performed a full system test including:
✅ Refrigerant charge verification
✅ Pressure testing and leak detection
✅ Vacuum and system evacuation
✅ Electrical continuity and amperage checks
✅ Temperature control verification
With everything in place, we monitored system pressures and temperatures during operation to ensure the units were cooling properly and maintaining setpoints within spec.
