We received a service call reporting a downed walk-in cooler — a critical refrigeration failure that needed fast attention. For any restaurant or commercial facility, refrigeration issues like these can jeopardize thousands of dollars in perishable goods, especially on high-traffic weekends.

Upon arrival, we accessed the roof and inspected the condensing unit. The unit’s compressor valves were roached, and we observed abnormal suction pressure, even for older refrigerants or R12 replacements. Although the expansion valve (TXV) was a newer Danfoss 134a model and functioning correctly, the system’s performance was compromised beyond repair.
